Roslyn Johnson, principal of Aleure, Ltd., believes child-labor-free production ensures the intrinsic beauty of the company’s luxurious rugs. According to Roslyn, the ancient crafts are only as beautiful as the high labor standards implemented in weaving them. "By establishing partnerships with humanitarian programs like GoodWeave, we hope to help the international community focus on resolving some of the remediable problems of working children everywhere."

Roslyn founded Aleure in 2004, after 20 years of experience in interior architecture and interior design in corporate, hospitality and residential markets, coupled with experience selling and marketing custom furniture, fabrics, leather, carpets and area rugs. Her inspiration to launch Aleure, Ltd., Hand-Knotted Tibetan Rugs was sparked by a desire to contribute to the revival of high-end luxury rugs.

Tibetan rugs owe their lustrous texture to unique knotting and weaving technique. Aleure creates special rug designs, produced in Nepal, and employs hand finishing techniques to enhance a rug’s natural luster. The company’s custom program offers personalized service through meetings with architects and interior designers in their offices and includes custom samples. Trade showrooms are included in the custom program as independent agencies.

Aleure uses materials indigenous to the region of production, including lanolin-rich Himalayan wool, genuine Chinese silk, pure cashmere, true hemp or any combination thereof. The rugs are made to order in knot counts from 40 to 200 and sizes up to 55x105 feet, in any shape, color, design, pile height and pile structure the client desires.

Roslyn plans to add trade showrooms, retail showrooms and independent agents to market Aleure rugs in key markets nationwide.
