Position Description

GoodWeave Certification Private Limited is affiliated with GoodWeave International, providing services to Indian companies who seek to be part of the GoodWeave International licensing and certification program that independently assures strong labor standards in textile supply chains.

GoodWeave International— a nonprofit organization founded in 1994 by Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi — is the leading international institution working to stop child labor in global supply chains through a market-based system and holistic approach. We partner with companies and local producer communities to bring visibility to hidden supply chains; protect workers’ rights; provide assurance that products are free of child, forced and bonded labor; and restore childhoods. GoodWeave Certification Private Limited provides inspection, monitoring and certification services to exporters participating in the GoodWeave program. The organization seeks a seasoned professional with considerable senior-level management experience to become its new Director. The Director is the top position, responsible for supervising (either directly or indirectly) a team of 23 in four regions who plan, deliver and implement ongoing support for the certification program.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead planning, development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of country operations and activities
• Oversee company management and ensure strong organizational structure that enables staff training, oversight, accountability and support for four regional teams
• Ensure financial, tax and legal compliance with government regulations
• Implement quality control system of licensing and certification program for maximum impact and integrity
• Ensure strong government, industry, worker and other stakeholder engagement
• Ensure strong monitoring, evaluation and data management
• Ensure all requirements (financial, donor, statutory) are produced efficiently and on a timely basis in accordance with organizational and government requirements
• Work with the management team, the GWCPL Board of Directors, and GoodWeave International, to develop ideas and plans to address organizational priorities, and undertake strategic and operational planning exercises
• Represent GoodWeave at relevant internal and external meetings
• Conduct business planning for continual improvement of services and financial sustainability.

Skills & Knowledge
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, well organized, adept at building relationships inside and outside the organization, and with a track record of administrative and managerial experience. S/he will possess a commitment to GoodWeave’s values and work ethics and have experience working on issues of social justice and responsible supply chains:

• Master’s Degree
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi
• Proven leadership skills with strategic, planning and program execution
• Experience reporting to a Board of Directors
• Minimum ten years senior management experience – preferably in an international, multi-stakeholder environment
• Ability to work as part of a team and with high integrity and accountability
• Results-driven, strategic and organized
• Senior level experience in supply chain audit and certification and inspection systems, as well as knowledge of Indian labor laws
• Proven track record in building stakeholder engagement and business relationships
• Knowledge and understanding of labor rights issues globally and in India
• Experience with data management and technology systems
• Financial management acumen
• Ability to travel

GoodWeave uses our supply chain transparency data platform to map supply chains, ensure child and forced labor are remediated and prevented, and report to our brand partners and across the organization.

GoodWeave seeks a motivated, qualified consultant to assist with migrating from our current database and BI provider to a new solution, based in India.

Scope of Work
In collaboration with GoodWeave International and GoodWeave Certification Private Limited:

• Understand GoodWeave’s current database architecture, system workflows, and technology ecosystem.
• Document business, functional, and technical requirements for the future solution.
• Research and identify suitable database, cloud, and Business Intelligence (BI) solution providers in India.
• Evaluate and recommend vendors for database platforms, application infrastructure, cloud storage, and Business Intelligence solutions.
• Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of proposed solutions, including architecture, scalability, security, and long-term sustainability.
• Perform detailed financial and cost-benefit analysis of cloud infrastructure, licensing, storage, and implementation models to support procurement decisions.
• Meet with shortlisted vendors to assess their technical capabilities, implementation approach, and organizational fit.
• Review technical proposals, Statements of Work (SoW), commercial quotations, and implementation roadmaps.
• Evaluate proposed system architectures, including High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD), ensuring alignment with organizational requirements and best practices.
• Apply knowledge of Computer Organization and Architecture (COA) to assess infrastructure compatibility, system performance, and technology selection.
• Prepare comparative analysis reports and provide strategic recommendations for the most suitable database and Business Intelligence solution.
• Present final recommendations and support GoodWeave in the vendor selection process.

Skills & Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in technology (B.Tech/B.E.) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering/Modelling, or a related field required.
• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills in English. Hindi proficiency is preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise standing up database systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL, MySQL and Excel
• Ability to work as part of a team and with high integrity
• Strong knowledge of off the shelf data visualization solutions
• Experience with data management and technology systems. Prior experience conducting data migration across platforms desired
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience in enterprise database systems, data management, or Business Intelligence (BI) platforms
• Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, Computer Organization & Architecture (COA), HLD/LLD, and system design principles
• Experience identifying and evaluating technology vendors, technical proposals, and cloud procurement models is preferred
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and travel within India if required

Duration
10-15 days’ work, beginning early August and ending late September 2026

Compensation
This is a short-term consultancy with an hourly rate. Pay will be commensurate with experience. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
