GoodWeave International appoints new Executive Committee officers

We believe that strong leadership is essential to achieving our mission, which is why we are excited to announce our newly elected Executive Committee officers.
With Michelle Fenty and Shamarukh Mohiuddin as Co-chairs, Samir Goswami as Treasurer, Shilpa Nadhan as Secretary, and Alissandra Aronow as Governance Chair, the Board has appointed leaders whose expertise in global development, human rights, and ethical business aligns with GoodWeave’s mission. Their leadership will help us strengthen our work to end child labor and improve working conditions across global supply chains.

Michelle Fenty, the new Co-chair, is an International Attorney and Development Banker who has dedicated a significant portion of her life to providing innovative financing solutions for developing countries. Fenty is currently External Counsel for Transurban, an Australian-owned toll-road operator. Previously she was the Co-Founder, Managing Director and General Counsel of Parsan Cross LLC, an international development advisory firm which finds development and financing solutions for projects in developing countries. Fenty is the former head of the Inter-American Development Bank in Trinidad and Tobago and prior to then served as Of Counsel in the firm, Perkins Coie LLP, in Washington DC with responsibilities in the negotiation, drafting and finalization of global commercial cross-border transactions. Fenty has been a dedicated member of the Board since 2018.
“I am delighted to take on the co-chair role on the Goodweave board and share the responsibility of ensuring that our work is truly impactful and far-reaching,” said Mohiuddin. “Together with my fellow board members and the talented Goodweave staff, we hope to shape a positive future for every child who is working in unsafe conditions within global supply chains.”
Shamarukh Mohiuddin, the new Co-chair, is a Principal at global consulting firm Nathan Associates, a Cadmus company, and a Director of Social Impact at University Press Limited, a leading publishing firm in South Asia. She is an expert in catalyzing cross-sector partnerships for international development and equipping businesses to be drivers and advocates for inclusive and sustainable growth. Previously, she served as the Director of Economic Empowerment at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation where she coordinated the efforts of global companies on social impact and ESG efforts. Other previous roles include serving as Executive Director of the U.S. Bangladesh Advisory Council and as Director at Fontheim International. She joined the GoodWeave Board in 2023.
Samir Goswami joined GoodWeave as Board Treasurer in 2024. He is a Deputy Assistant Administrator in the Bureau for Management at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Goswami has extensive experience promoting labor rights, including as a consultant for the International Labor Organization, Humanity United, United Way Worldwide, and other global entities on business and human rights issues. Prior to joining USAID, he served as Chief Operating Officer of a leading technology sector organization where he oversaw financial, people, and operations strategy.
Shilpa Nadhan, the new Secretary, is Director of Human Rights Policy on the Global Public Policy team at The Walt Disney Company. Prior to joining Disney, she was Manager of Social Impact and Global Responsibility at Marriott International. Before Disney and Marriott, she worked at the International Organization for Migration, to support humanitarian crises that included Afghanistan, Yemen, Iraq, Myanmar and Bangladesh. She has also worked with the International Rescue Committee and the U.S. Institute of Peace. Nadhan has received fellowships from the Aspen Institute, the German Marshall Fund’s Manfred Worner Seminar, Atlantik-Brucke and the Japan Foundation. She joined the board in 2023.
Alissandra Aronow, the new Governance chair, is a former competitive international ice dancer and History of Art Major from the University of Michigan. Aronow serves as Vice President for the Lovelight Foundation, co-chair for Figure Skating in Detroit, and National Advisory Counsel for Children’s Rights. She also serves as trustee at the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation, where in addition to acting as secretary, she works with the family on their impact investing. Aronow is an advocate in the anti-slavery/human trafficking space and is focused on improving supply chains and combating child sex trafficking. Alissandra has been a member of the Board since 2019.
