Additionally, the school was promoted from a Hindi to an English medium school. The school principal credits GoodWeave’s community-based team for helping achieve these results.
In 2019, GoodWeave initiated the Child Friendly Community (CFC) programme in Gobardhanpur village, where the primary school had 104 children enrolled and an attendance rate of 30%. Since then, enrollment has risen to 165 children, with a remarkable improvement in attendance, now between 85-90%. The community-based field team supported by GoodWeave contributed to these results by strengthening rapport with parents, children and local organizations, and also improving learning levels and retention of students through Motivation and Learning Camp (MLC) activities and life skill sessions.
